Job Description

Our platform is scaling quickly and we need a hands-on UX/UI Design Lead to ensure our user experience is world class. You’ll play a crucial role in defining and designing the user and interface experience for our Mashers, Clients and Internal Mash Team. And help to shape the strategic direction for the design of the product. You’ll work hand in hand with the Product Leadership team (CPO and Head of Engineering) to ensure alignment with our broader technical, commercial and user goals. Your predominant focus will be on creating an intuitive, beautiful and engaging digital experience for one of the world’s most aesthetically astute audiences! Sound interesting?! Let’s Mash. About Mash Mash is a global creative company that curates bespoke teams to solve brand challenges. With a mission to empower the (creative) world to work for itself, we’ve rapidly and proudly matured into one of the world's most vibrant creative services platforms - curating bespoke creative teams across 28 countries for start-ups, SMEs, NFPs and some of the world's biggest brands. As a growing creative technology company we have tripled in size over the last 18 months and have significant momentum for continued growth and success. With our global head office now located between Australia and Thailand, we are on the lookout for a number of new incredible humans to join our dynamic, remote working machinery that makes Mash, MASH. Our approach to (flexible) work We run things a little differently at Mash so here’s the scoop for this role. This role is fully remote. We don’t have a head office but you’ll have access to a WeWork if you prefer it. We are on a mission to empower the world to work for themselves so we mean it when we talk about ‘ownership’ and ‘autonomy’ - you’ll get heaps of both here if that’s what you’re looking for. About you You’re a natural collaborator. You know how to distil information from clients, users, internal teams, as well as trends in the marketplace, into beautiful design. You have the highest design standards. You understand how to apply HCD and traditional UX research, as well as information architecture, task flow and decision mapping. You are not afraid to experiment. You know the frameworks and tools to drive and enhance design optimisation. You’re on the tools. You live and breathe Figma, Adobe Creative Suite or Invision. Sound like you?! Great! Let’s Mash. If you’d been here last week you might have... Workshopped with a few users (*Mashers) to understand their needs, perspectives and ambitions Worked with our clients to understand their feedback about what’s working and what could be improved Built out personas, journey maps and our service design blueprint to enhance our understanding of our users Collaborated closely with our Engineers to really sweat the details of design implementation to make sure the product experience is world class Generate a hypothesis grounded in your understanding of human behaviour, and tested it in the product environment Developed and refined our design systems with our Engineers to create components and assets that are consistent across the product Been a thought-leader and coach to rest of the team around how to improve our human-centred design methods and processes Your background You’ll have worked in a product led or product driven culture before - that means you have the ability to grasp user needs, and align with the tech strategy accordingly. You have experience with experimentation frameworks and tools to drive and enhance design optimisation You have an exceptional understanding of human behaviour and psychology, and how that informs user behaviour You’re a master in HCD and/or UX research skills such as: card sorting, heuristic reviews, ethnographic research methods, reframing, affinity diagramming, A/B testing and behavioural analysis and synthesis You understand information architecture and how decisions should be mapped out And needless to say, you’re gun designer - whether that’s in Adobe, Figma or Invision. What’s on offer ● Remuneration - Monthly retainer plus attractive uncapped commission structure. ● Empowerment - 100% remote working or the option of a co-working space. ● Ownership - we are big on letting you run your desk as you see fit. We mean it when we say you’ll have ownership of what you work on. ● Impact - We are obsessed with generating results that have a genuine impact.
