About The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Database and System Administrator to provide specialist application management, database administration, small system development and technical support services for a large variety of business information systems, technologies and databases. The suitable candidate will be required to perform the services in Darwin as required by the project's activities. It is a requirement therefore that the suitable candidate will be Darwin based for the duration of this engagement. Key Duties & Responsibilities Database and System Administrator will provide expert operational support services inclusive of the following: provide a comprehensive range of high quality specialist application management, database administration and technical support services across all environments including development, test, training, production and disaster recovery environments; work with application teams, vendors and service providers to analyse, design, develop, document, implement and test approved application additions, improvements, enhancements, patches and releases as required; undertake controlled application configuration activities while complying with business system owner, product owner and service provider configuration management policies and processes; manage change and release artefacts including requests for change, implementation plans and back out plans while complying with business system owner, product owner and service provider change & release policies and processes; proactively manage and monitor application interfaces and messaging; manage and maintain application documentation including design, technical, support and operational documents; proactively monitor and manage application availability, capacity and performance; proactively monitor the health of applications and systems to prevent incidents and problems; publish and manage the configuration of applications in Citrix as required; liaise with vendors, agents and service providers with respect to any technical support issues that relate to in scope applications and interfacing systems; log, diagnose and report application faults to the relevant vendors while complying with service provider incident and fault logging processes as well as relevant A policies, processes and procedures; develop test artefacts including master test plans and test summary reports while complying with business system owner, product owner and service provider test policies and processes; participate in testing activities; undertake backup management including development and implementation of back-up and recovery procedures as well as regular backup restorations to confirm validity of backups; proactively identify and report on incidents and problems; and Create, update and maintain operational reports, develop ad hoc reports and undertake operational data analysis on business systems. Desirable Skills Experience within families, health and educational setting and context, and the business processes, requirements and service delivery requests that are typical to that setting. Extensive experience in business and systems analysis, including business process analysis. The ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence including the ability to present information to various audiences such as education professionals, senior managers, and operational personnel.
