About The Role Part Time, Permanent (0.5FTE) Consumer Service Delivery Level 2 with a salary range of $71,215 - $76,353 (pro rata) per annum + Superannuation Salary Packaging arrangements providing tax benefits available for living and entertainment expenses increasing your take home income where part of your wage is paid tax free each pay, savings thousands in tax each year Location: Nundah House About Nundah House Nundah House is an alternative to admission facility offering a Step Up and Step Down Model of Care. Peer Support Workers are integral members of the team and draw on their lived experience of recovery from mental illness, to instil confidence and hope in others about the journey of recovery. Nundah House is a ten bed sub-acute facility that provides an option for people who are becoming unwell or are still recovering from an acute illness and need a short period of additional support and consolidation to complement their treatment and support. Nundah House is operated by Neami in partnership with the Metro North Hospital and Health Service (MNHHS) and aims to prevent avoidable inpatient admissions. During their stay consumers are assisted to develop a wellness plan including relapse prevention. The staff team at Nundah House will consist of a Manager, 2x Senior Practice Leaders and a number of Community Rehabilitation and Support Workers (CRSWs) and Peer Support Workers (PSWs) and is staffed 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. The Nundah House Service operates on a 7 day rotating roster of morning, afternoon and overnight shifts. About Your New Role Peer Support Workers have an integral role in the Service experience. We are seeking people with a lived experience of recovery or caring for someone living with a mental illness, to instil confidence and hope in others about the journey of recovery. You must have a lived experience of a caring role, and a rich understanding of the processes of recovery. You must be willing to purposefully use your own story to help others further their own understanding of recovery. What you will bring to the role? Lived experience of caring for someone living with a mental illness and navigating the mental health system Computer literacy It is desirable that the Peer Support Worker has a Mental Health (or equivalent Human Services, Community Services) qualification of Certificate IV level or above, or complete such a qualification within 2 years of your commencement of employment What will Neami offer in return?
